Arrow Sanitary Supports Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Arrow Sanitary Service has been proudly serving Portland-area communities for more than 60 years. Last week, Arrow’s employees announced its investment and partnership with the Coalition of Communities of Color, contributing $5,000 to continuing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work in the cities and counties it serves.
Marcus C. Mundy, Executive Director of the Coalition of Communities of Color toured Arrow’s facility before being presented with Arrow’s financial contribution. The two organizations will look to partner in several key areas to further advance DEI work at both Arrow Sanitary and within the refuse industry overall.
Arrow and its parent company, Waste Connections, are committed to continuing its DEI work which will include - but is far from limited to - leadership training focused on understanding and mitigating unconscious bias, Diversity and inclusion education will be incorporated into future leadership and front line trainings and a financial commitment priority will be given to organizations like the Coalition of Communities of Color that focus directly on racial inequities at a local and national level.
“Integrity is one of our core values. We define integrity as saying what you will do and then doing it,” added Brown.
